A Tour of Paradise - Part 2

Marriage and Spouses in Paradise

Everybody will have a spouse. Everybody will have a spouse. Even if you're not married in this world, you'll have a spouse in the hereafter.

And so perhaps you see your wife or you see your husband, and you may stop, because there's no concept of time in Jannah. It's eternal. And so you may stop and gaze at the beauty of your spouse for a year.

You may just literally be awestruck for months or weeks or however long you want, just looking at the beauty that Allah has created for you and to give you an idea.

The Beauty of the Women of Paradise

The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) in a hadith in Bukhari, he described one of the women of Paradise, and he says:

(Sahih al-Bukhari 6567)

If a woman from the people of Paradise were to just gaze upon this earth. He says:

The space between Paradise and this earth would be filled with light.

And he says:

And the scent, the perfume she's wearing will also fill the distance from the Paradise to earth. And he says:

The scarf on her head is better than the whole world and whatever it contains. It's better than the whole world and whatever it contains.

What Are We Sacrificing?

So what are we chasing? What are you sacrificing? When the scarf from one of the women of Paradise is better than all of this world, what are we sacrificing, chasing after a very small, cheap return? Right? And so you enter your palace. You sit with your husband or your wife. You enjoy.

The Luxurious Decor of Paradise

You walk around and you see the decor of Jannah and the rugs and the thrones and the cushions. Allah جل جلاله says:

Reclining on furnishings whose inner linings are of a beautiful silk and fruit that will be hanging close to them. The inner lining is the best quality. So what about the outer? SubhanAllah, the decor of Jannah is remarkable.

The Delights and Servants of Paradise

And so you make it to Jannah. You sit with your wife and maybe you want another snack. And so you see these beautiful children roaming around Allah جل جلاله has created.

They will be made eternal with glasses and pitchers and a cup of wine from a flowing spring. They will drink it but they won't have any headache nor will they have any like, you know, a hangover or anything, a different wine than that of this world of course. No, they will not be intoxicated and fruits that they may select and meat, bird meat from whatever they desire. So all sorts of snacks available to you and the like.

Exploring Paradise: The Fragrant Soil

And so then you say, why don't you tell your spouse, let's go explore Jannah. Let's go explore, let's see what Allah جل جلاله has created for us. And so you step outside and you're greeted by a beautiful smell. You came into Jannah, you smell the same smell but there was so much to look at and see and hear that you kind of ignored it but you come out of your home in Jannah and you again smell this beautiful smell and you remember the hadith of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) from this world where when he was in Isra' al-Mi'raj and he described Jannah, he says:

(Sahih Muslim 2834)

Its soil has the scent of misk.

The Perfect Climate of Paradise

And so you smell this beautiful smell and you walk and the weather is amazing. Allah جل جلاله says:

They will be reclining on adorned couches. They won't have the heat of the burning sun nor freezing cold as well. Whatever temperature you like. And if you like 75 and your wife likes 69, you'll have 75 and your wife will have 69 or 70 or whatever temperature. Everybody will feel as they like. Everyone will feel as they like. The weather of Jannah is impeccable and perfect to your suiting.

Freedom from Bodily Needs and Discomforts

And so then you begin walking. Now in this world, you might have allergies. You might have nasal congestion. And the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) he says, don't worry in Jannah. He says:

(Sahih al-Bukhari 3246, Sahih Muslim 2834)

You don't have to use the bathroom. So you don't have to take a potty break. You don't have to look for a bathroom. There's no using the bathroom in Jannah.

And he says:

And you won't have any congestion in your nose.

And he says, nor will you have to spit. And he says:

And you'll have a light sweat that will be the scent of misk. So it's actually like as you're walking, you're being more beautified with a beautiful smell. SubhanAllah.

The Four Rivers of Paradise

And then you hear some flowing water and you want to go and see what is the sound. And you find Allah has created for you four rivers. And so you go to the rivers and Allah جل جلاله says:

He says that, he says the description of the Paradise which Allah has created and prepared for those who have taqwa of Allah. He says, first there are rivers of water that does not become contaminated.

And he says:

And there is rivers of milk which taste never change. And he says:

And there is rivers of wine, a delicious drink that does not intoxicate you nor give you a headache.

And he says:

And there are rivers of clear purified honey.

So all sorts of rivers that you can drink from, you can enjoy its sound and its flow, you can enjoy its beauty, and then you continue on.

The Magnificent Trees of Paradise

And as you continue on, you are looking at the trees of Jannah. And the trees of Jannah are massive. The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) he says:

(Sahih al-Bukhari 3251, Sahih Muslim 2828)

He says, a rider may ride in its shade for 100 years and not pass it. He says, there are trees in Jannah. Huge trees of Jannah.

And so, you see these massive trees. The trunks are made of gold. The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) he says:

The trunks of the trees of Jannah are actually made of gold.

Reunited with Family in Paradise

And then, SubhanAllah, you may be walking in Jannah and you see your father or your sister or your daughter. And you know that your daughter was actually much better than you. She would pray Qiyam and she would fast and she would cover herself. But maybe you weren't as dedicated. But you're together in Jannah and you're surprised. How am I with my daughter? I thought, if anything, maybe she would have been in a higher level than me.

But Allah جل جلاله says beautifully:

Allah says, And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in iman, We will join their offspring with them, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for what they have earned. So you will be joined with your family in Paradise. Whoever has the highest level, you will be joined with them in Paradise. So you get to enjoy their company in Jannah as well.

Unity and Harmony Among the People of Paradise

And perhaps there might be some tension between you and your brother or you and your son or something, but in Jannah, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) says in Bukhari:

(Sahih al-Bukhari 3246)

There's no differences or anger or animosity between the people of Jannah.

As if their heart is one. So you'll be with your family in Jannah, inshallah ta'ala, who made it there as well.

The Flying Horses of Paradise

And so, in Jannah, you have whatever you wish. And you may see as you're walking in Jannah, you see a man flying on a horse. Flying on a horse. And maybe he waves to you and he says, (السلام عليكم) And you're thinking, who is this man? And the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), he says in a hadith in the books of Imam Tirmidhi, He says:

Oh Messenger of Allah, are there horses in Jannah? Because the man loves horses, right? And we know the hadith that on the Day of Judgment, Allah, after He will establish justice between the animals, He will say:

Become dust. So the animals will become dust. And then the animals have been taken care of but then the judgment of mankind and jinn will start, right? So the man is asking, Oh Messenger of Allah, are there horses in Jannah? And he says:

If Allah enters you into Paradise, you can ride on a horse that's made of red rubies with wings and it will fly with you wherever you wish in Paradise.

Whatever You Desire in Paradise

So if you want a Ferrari in Jannah, if you want kittens in Jannah, if you want a pet lion in Jannah, whatever you wish insha'Allah ta'ala you can have because it's Jannah. Even once there was a man who asked the Messenger of Allah, a Bedouin, he says, Can I farm in Jannah? Can I farm, like get to work and farm? And the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) told him like, You're in Jannah, why would you want to farm? He says, I love to farm.

I love to farm. So the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) told him, then yes, you can farm if you want. And as soon as you plant the seeds, he said they will become like huge, huge trees.

And the man said in response, the farmer must be an Ansari or a Meccan because us Bedouins can't farm like that. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) smiled, you know, because whatever you want in Jannah, it's there for you, insha'Allah. Allah says:

Whatever they want, whatever you want will be there with your Lord, and that is the reward of those who do righteous deeds.

The Greatest Day: Yawm al-Mazeed (The Day of Increase)

He was talking to the Messenger of Allah about Friday, an hour in which one makes du'a and it will not be turned away and he says to the Messenger of Allah:

And we, the angels, we call the day of Friday in the afterlife as the day of increase so the Messenger of Allah, he said why do you call it the day of increase? and he says, Jibril عليه السلام says:

Your Lord has taken and allocated a valley in Paradise that is more fragrant than white musk so he says:
